EmmoLei Sankofa Scores ‘Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls’ for Amazon Studios

The trailer has dropped and release date has been announced for Amazon Studios’ new competition series Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls, scored by EmmoLei Sankofa. The series is produced by Amazon Studios and Bunnim-Murray Productions and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 25, 2022.

Directed by Nneka Onuorah, Lizzo’s vibrant eight-episode show — which was first announced in March 2021 — will feature choreographers Tanisha Scott, Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley and Grace Holden, along with a guest appearance from SZA. (Billboard) The show follows Lizzo as she searches for backup dancers for her next world tour, focusing on and highlighting diverse body and racial representation. As Lizzo says in the trailer, “Girls that look like me don’t get representation.”
