Ghiya Rushidat Scores Pioneering Middle Eastern Sci-Fi Series ‘Ajwan’

Composer Ghiya Rushidat (she/her) has scored the very first Middle Eastern sci-fi animated series Ajwan, an adaption of the best-selling novel series by Emirati author Noura Noman. Produced by Barajoun Entertainment, the series traces Ajwan’s journey across the stars as she strives to reunite with her son after losing her home and family, all the while discovering dark secrets of an organization out to achieve intergalactic domination. The series is directed by Arafa Al Mughairi and produced by Ayman Jamal.

Ghiya’s treatment of the score does not shy from the story’s galactic scope. From epic orchestral action cues to melancholic piano melodies, her music evokes the vastness of space in all its wonders: limitless and ethereal, powerful yet isolating. These interstellar portraits reflect the condition of humanity and bring Ajwan to life. You can listen to Ghiya's original series soundtrack to Ajwan which is now available on all music platforms.

Stream the series now on Shahid with English subtitles, and listen to the soundtrack on Spotify and Apple Music.
