Bio
Jackie Westfall (she/her) is an LA-based independent Music Supervisor who has worked on hit series like Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO), Minx (HBO), Seal Team (CBS), and the recent Constellation (AppleTV+); mainstream and Indie films like Cypher, While We’re Young, and Mistress America; and branded content for agencies like Red Bull, and more.
Jackie has always been driven to seek out music and film. Growing up in the landlocked Midwest, in a small town that lacked both major concert venues and art-house movie theaters, she would frequently travel to Chicago – usually a twelve-hour round trip journey – to see and experience live bands or a four hour trip to St. Louis to see films like Ghost World or Amelie that later became some of her favorites. Her insistence on journeying to have these experiences imbued Jackie with the spirit of music discovery and a love of film, which directly inspired her future career of marrying the two.
Jackie was a college radio DJ during her undergrad years – the quintessential background for music supervisors before a formally-established major existed – focusing on indie rock and alternative music for her timeslot. After graduating, she started her music supervision journey at Walker in Portland, OR under the tutelage of the inimitable Sara Matarazzo before heading to Los Angeles to further her career. She has since worked alongside renowned colleagues in her craft including Emmy-nominated music supervisors Brienne Rose (Noise/Racket) and Thomas Golubić (SuperMusicVision), all the while continuing to build her solo career.
Handling everything from creative to clearances in record time, Jackie’s work has been recognized with a 2022 PMA Mark Award for Hip-hop Track of the Year for “He’s Been Good” and a Music + Sound Award for Best Sync In A Film for Dear Rider: The Jake Burton Story (HBO Max). When she’s not working, she’s usually making a mixtape or watching a Cubs game.
