Akira Kosemura Cover Story in Modern Pianist Magazine

Renowned pianist and composer Akira Kosemura (he/him) is featured on the cover of the July 2024 issue of United Felt Corporation’s Modern Pianist Magazine. The issue opens with an in depth interview with Akira about his albums, career, and, of course, film music. The issue also includes an interview with Spectra Creative Agency owner and agent Arbel Bedak (he/him) where he discusses working with Akira and other composers and offers advice to artists pursuing a career in music in media.

Akira describes the influence film music had on his decision to pursue a career in music. “Although I learned classical piano from a young age, my interest in music grew more spontaneously when I encountered film music”, says Akira. He goes on to discuss how American movies of the 80s and 90s sparked this interest and how he loved the diverse range of music of music he encountered during his time in school broadened his perspective and excited him. He says, “Even now, as a professional composer, I am always searching for new music.”

Arbel was asked to be interviewed for this issue as someone who collaborates closely with Akira and many other composers and artists. He shares about his own journey in the music and entertainment industry and how he decides whether to work with new talents, as well as shares some of the origin of Spectra Creative Agency. His interview can be found on page 24 of the issue.
