Matthew Wang Scores Documentary ‘How The West Was One’, World Premiere at Dances With Films 2024

Matthew Wang (he/him) has scored the upcoming documentary How The West Was One, directed by Razieme Iborra and produced by Alec Shangold. The film follows three young women in a contemporary reimagining of the American West on their journey to redefine what it means to be a cowgirl. From deep Queens, artist Annie Bercy flees the West to uncover the whitewashed history of Black Cowboys. In Miami, Latina designer Elle Barbeito confronts her own survival hunting the invasive Burmese Python. And on the West Coast, rodeo queen Morgan Laughlin vies for the title of Miss Rodeo America.

How The West Was One will have its world premiere at Dances With Films Independent Film Festival on June 30 at 6:30 PM at the TCL Chinese Theater in LA. For tickets and more information about the festival and documentary you can click the link here.
