Spectra Clients in the 2024 Venice International Film Festival
The Venice International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most renown film festivals worldwide, known for the freedom in artistic expression given to its filmmakers. We are proud to announce that our very own Taylor Rowley (she/her) and Rebekka Karijord (she/her) have films that will premiere in independent and parallel sections of this year’s Venice International Film Festival:
No Sleep Till
Music supervised by Taylor Rowley, the film No Sleep Till is the feature debut from French-American filmmaker Alexandra Simpson that will be premiering at the Settimana Internazionale della Critica (SiC), one of the independent and parallel sections of the Venice International Film Festival. The film follows characters who feel compelled to stay in the old town of Atlantic Beach, Florida, which, once more, is under the threat of approaching Hurricane season. In the still of the night, each will live out their sense of doom as a peculiar adventure leads to a final meeting.
Possibility of Paradise
Scored by composer Rebekka Karijord (she/her), Possibility of Paradise is the latest film by Serbian documentarian Mladen Kovačević that explores what it means to live in an earthly paradise that doesn’t belong to us, culturally (Bali, here). The film is an official selection of Giornate Degli Autori, an independent and parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival, modeled after the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. The main theme of this year’s edition and all the selected films is “Around the world on a tightrope” - an exploration of the lives of those who lead fragile existences and embody the tenacity to not give up on their dreams.
